Bought this item to use for BYOB dinners. Looks a lot better than a Tesco bag and gives an air of class. Keeps chilled wine cool for at least 4 hours. However, I pre-chill it in the freezer before use, just to take any residual heat out of it.

Comes with a waiter’s friend and bottle stop.

Great value and product. We like to take a bottle or two away on trips away to relax with in our hotel room (hotel wine SO expensive) and this keeps it cool (if white or bubbly) and makes carrying easy. Also great for picnics and festivals. Takes either 2 bottles and a cool pack or 1 bottle, cool pack and 2 glasses. Not sure if cool pack neccessary if wine chilled but I added it anyway. Great quality product at a fantastic price.

This is a very neat classy looking good quality wine cooler with adjustable strap so very easy to carry on your shoulder. The tools in the top are a nice touch too. We wanted to carry 2 bottles of champagne to an event and as it was going to be quite a long time before the champagne was drunk we put one of those wine sleeve coolers that you keep in the freezer over each bottle and the combination of these and the bag kept it really cold. I was surprised we could get both the bottles with sleeves on in the bag, we did have to take out the divider and the tools but that was no problem. Really pleased with this and it’s an excellent price.

Drinks bag arrived promptly , case looked smart and was not to heavy (400g/14oz ) . It was able to hold both a bottle of wine and a bottle of water we kept the divider in but this can be removed if you want. I was really pleased with the way drinks stayed cool even though they had only been well chilled no additional ice blocks were used to aid the cooling (on holiday no freezer available). It was comfortable to carry on the shoulder ,but there was also a sturdy carrying handle if you preferred.

Looks the part and good for taking chilled wine to dinner parties or picnics. Excellent corkscrew saves forgetting that vital piece of equipment, and although we’ll try not to use it, the bottle stopper for an unfinished bottle is a good idea.

    :

I bought this to go with the matching cool bag also dark green with beige zips and straps. It arrived within two to three days.

Not living in a house where wine is kept but just bought as required – I had to search around to find suitable sized items to check the size that will fit in.

The Bag is dark green with beige double ended zip and straps. Its weight – I could not describe as weighty when it is empty but it is not featherlight either.

The bag has a handle stitched securely on the lid which is man-man sized. It also has a shoulder strap with a sliding buckle to lengthen or shorten the length. The shoulder strap is sewn on to each end very securely and when reduced to its shortest length is 22″ long.

I measured the shoulder strap like this as if the zip broke the lid would no longer be “fixed” and you would not be able to carry the bag by the handle. The handle which is sewn on the lid very securely would be redundant. With the bag empty I held the shoulder strap fixed at its shortest length and the bag and strap measured 21″ from base to my hand holding the strap as a handle. In the event of a zip failure while you are out and about you could use the shortened shoulder strap as a handle.

The lid and the bag compartment are lined with silver coloured insulating fabric. There is a removable divider also silver coloured insulated (this seems to have a slight curve but that could have be caused by it being packed. The divider measures 10″ high by 6″ wide but the 6″ width has a 1″ wide length of beige coloured Velcro SEWN ON at each side so actual width across is 4″. The corresponding velco is SEWN ON to the inside fabric of the bag. The inner lining is only attached to the bag around the top so you can pull out it out a bit to wipe it. (Not as easy to do this as on the matching cool bag that you can use for frozen food as the silver insulating fabric is stiffer than the white lining of the larger cool bag.

The bag on the outside measures 13″ high and between 8 and 9 inches wide. It is oval shaped. I unzipped the double ended zip and found the lid and even its hinge has the silver coloured insulation fabric on it. The zip unfastens all around the top apart from about 8″ across the back. On the inside of the lid are fixed two elastic loops holding a Barman’s tool and a temporary bottle stopper with a metal thing which may be a gripper to keep it on the bottle – Uunfortunately I have no suitable open/empty wine bottle to try it on.

The Barman’s tool has a fold-out blade at one end (did not seem too sharp) and a bottle cap remover at the other – the end of the bottle cap remover has a shape which you might use for something but I don’t know what. There is also a fold-out corkscrew. With tall bottles in the bag you may find it necessary to move the temporary bottle stopper so it might stop the lid zipping up. The Barman’s tool is more flat-shaped.

The inside of the bag is 12″ deep. I am forgetting the small depth of the lid but the lid is fairly flexible and if you put a bottle or a couple of bottles in that were slightly taller than 12″ the lid would bend but you might have to remove the Barman’s Tool too.

If you have a wider bottle to put in the bag you can remove the divider from the Velcro and just slide it in between a larger bottle and a smaller one. I did not have any thick bottles in the house to try out so I had to look around and choose things.

To simulate two bottles (one fatter than the other) I put a jar of Hellmans mayonnaise 800 grams which measures 12″ around it and a Sodastream plastic bottle which measures 10 and a half” around next to it. I’d like to have tried two Hellmans jars (only had one) to see if two bottles 12″ around would fit but I think it would be either a very close fit or impossible.

I wondered about fitting a single fatter bottle in so I simulated one by duct-taping a bottle of Tesco High Juice (1 Litre size) and two small circular items which altogether which measured 16″ around. The High Juice bottle was 12″ high. The lid zipped up easily with the Barman’s tool removed from the inside of the lid. The zip forces the lid to remain oval (the base stays oval shaped too) but the body of the bag became more circular around the simulated “fat bottle”. I managed to slide my full hand down inside the bag between this simulation and the front of the bag so if the single fat bottle had a narrowing neck to allow for the lid forcing the fabric back to an oval shape you could get a single bottle with a circumference longer than 16″ in (divider removed of course). The inside of the bag has a circumference of 18″ but the oval lid and the oval base would mean a bottle that fat couldn’t be 12″ tall.

You could let the Barman’s Tool slide down the inside of the bag if necessary as there would be empty space either side of the fat bottle.

At the moment we travel with my grandson who still has the occasional bottle of ordinary milk. I put the Hellmans Mayonnaise in the bottom of the bag to simulate a 12″ circumference bottle and a One-Litre 3″ square shaped carton of milk which is 9″ high next to it. There appears to be enough room for one of the smaller sized milk cartons to stand on top of the One litre one. There is 4″ space to allow for the height of one of these smaller cartons. If you plan to use the contents of the smaller carton in one go it could be stored upside down while it was still unopened (one carton’s screw-on lid next the the other) if you needed an inch more to get the zip to close.

Well I hope this comprehensive description helps anyone interested.

The insulated sides of the bag feel quite thick and I have no doubt they would keep things cool for a long time. I need to experiment to see if the bag would help keep a vacuum flask of hot liquid or soup hotter longer than the flask alone, The bag would of course act as protector to keep a flask safe from knocks and falls from not too a much of a height.
